Description
Melanocytes are the cells that form the skin pigments (melanin). They are located in the basal layer of the epidermis. If these melanocytes do not produce equal amount of melanin everywhere, pigment spots, such as melasma or age spots, develop.
The tint is spread unequally and the skin is uneven coloured.
The ideal face care should support the skin renewal process in order to decrease existing melanin as quickly as possible. The skincare should not bleach the skin, but rather inhibit the production of melanin and provide skin with sufficient moisture.
